FAQ

Do the games from Asia have English instructions?

Each product will specify whether English instructions are included or not. In either case, English instructions can usually be found on BoardGameGeek which may be directly from the game designer or translated by a community member. In each of our product descriptions, we will specify how english instructions will be included:

  • Inside the Box
  • QR Code (on the box or inside included instructions)
  • Printed Copy By Us (note: we will only provide a print copy if it's from the original designer/publisher)
  • Sorry, no english rules

I've never seen or heard of these games before. Where can I get more information on them?

In terms of video content, we recommend these specific Youtube channels because they focus on games from Asia.

- Taylor's Trick-taking Table: https://www.youtube.com/@ClaudeAndTaylor
- Cardboard East: https://www.youtube.com/@CardboardEast
- Circat: https://www.youtube.com/@iamcircat

Sometimes, you might be able to find these games on an online board-game simulation platform such as BoardGameArena (BGA), Tabletopia, Tabletop Simulator. Keep in mind these platforms might require a fee to play them.

The more nterest that is shown for these games from Asia, the more likely that the game will find a english-localizing publisher!

If anything, shoot us a message on social media or e-mail us at support@redgoosegames.ca, we'll be happy to talk to you for hours on this XD

I'm looking for a certain game from Asia. Do you have it or can Red GooseGames help me get it?

We are constantly on the lookout for games in Asia as it is our niche and focus., so we can definitely try! However, there might be many reasons why it's unavailable. Such reasons may be that:

  • It is going to be published with an English-localized publisher and the Japanese versions are restricted from being sold in North America.

  • Their initial print run has sold out and there are no plans to publish more copies. Sometimes games just go out of print to never be heard from again :(

Definitely feel free to message us through socials or e-mail if you have any queries about upcoming and/or rare games and we will try our best to help.

Does Red Goose Games have a physical storefront?

For now, we currently only have an online presence. However, we do plan on being exhibitors/vendors at certain events and conventions in Canada. (We are based in the Toronto area.) At these events, we will definitely have some games from our catalog available for demo!

Follow us on our socials for the most up to date details on where we might be!

Do you plan on shipping to other countries?

That is something that we have not decided yet but we would like to one day. If you are looking for one of the titles featured in our shop and are not from Canada or the US, please feel free to try TravelGamesUK, a friend of mine who ships worldwide and helped me start this business here in Canada.

Why do you only feature games from Asia?

One of our main objectives with Red Goose Games is to highlight and focus on games that may not be so easily available for board game lovers. We really loved all of the games we discovered during our trips to Japan, and our first foray into sourcing games was at Tokyo Game Market which is why most of our inventory is from Asia. You can read the full story about our amazing experience at Tokyo Game Market on our About Us page.

We definitely don't want to exclude board game designers from any region. Since we are a Canadian company, we want to feature and sell Canadian game designers as well. As we grow, we also plan to feature more games from all around the world.
